Structural and behavioural commonalities of process variants

چکیده
A common business process might exist in multiple variations in an enterprise, due to different legal requirements in different countries, deviations in the supporting IT infrastructure, or differences in the organisational structure. In order to explore and control such variability, we argue that the notion of a core process, the invariant nucleus of all process variants, might be applied. In this paper, we discuss the spectrum of structural and behavioural aspects that might be leveraged to define such a process.
